'Humanessence' by Cornelia Craig is an art event consisting of large scale paintings, sculpted figurines and an interactive display held at Silo 6, Wynyard Quarter from September 5th to 12th.

The paintings explore human emotions in a painterly expressionistic manner. They are painted in oil paint on etched aluminium on both sides of the panel. They hang suspended in space.

The figurines by contrast are small and appear dwarfed by the colossal size of the silos. They are a metaphorical expression of our human essence. They are done in multi-media; egg, tempera, collage and wax.
The interactive display is a fun way for the audience to explore facial expressions to portray emotion via drawings and photos. These images are projected onto the large, tall surfaces of the silo walls.

There will be a public opening night on Saturday 5th September from 6pm-9pm and the exhibition will be open 11am-6pm daily.
