Acro dance combines classical dance technique with acrobatic elements. It is defined by its athletic character and its unique choreography which blends dance and acrobatics (think Cirque du Soleil!) Our aim is to get students in this class into good physical condition as acro dance is the most physically demanding dance style we offer. Therefore the emphasis will be on flexibility, strength, balance and endurance exercises. Time will also be spent on tumbling, leaps and partnered balancing exercises.

Please note: For this class students are expected to practise at home daily so the appropriate progress is made. Numbers for this class are limited and students (& parents) need a good level of commitment. If you know your child doesn’t have the time (or motivation) for extra practice at home please consider a different style of dance class.

The timetable is subject to change and classes will only proceed if we have sufficient enrolments a week before the start date, so please book early to avoid disappointment. Refunds will apply for classes which do not proceed.

This class is for those with some acro or gymnastics experience. Before joining this class you will need to be able to do the following: Splits one way. Front or back walkovers (or at least kicking over from bridge). A good degree of core strength – 10x full sit ups and 30 seconds in plank position should be easy
