Good internal communications are a must for a well-functioning organisation and for effective external engagement. Your staff, volunteers and members need to know and understand what’s happening in your organisation if they are to be able to communicate it externally to potential new members, supporters and funders.

In this session Z Energy’s Hannah Heberley will outline:
- what internal communications is
- why it’s important
- how to go about it - some practical advice and tips
- what happens when it goes wrong.

It will be an interactive session with an opportunity for questions and discussion.

The Community Comms Collective and Z Energy have partnered to bring you this session, which is hosted by Volunteer Wellington. This is a free workshop for charities and community organisations.

Presenter: Hannah Heberley is a Senior Communications Advisor at Z Energy. Her communications experience spans the private, not-for-profit and government sectors. Hannah is passionate about internal communications, and believes that, when done well, it has the potential to be the lifeline of an organisation, helping employees – or volunteers – to understand how they fit into the bigger picture, and shaping an organisation’s culture, building trust, and increasing engagement.
