International Museum Day - Museums for a Sustainable Society
The theme this year fits in perfectly with the core values of Kiwi North - conservation and sustainability of the past and present through education, advocacy and memorable experiences.

To celebrate this important day in the annual calendar of museums all over the world we are offering a 50% discount of our normal entry fees.
This includes not only the Whangarei Museum and it's beautiful grounds with heritage buildings but also the Kiwi House, the only captive kiwi and tuatara viewing in Northland.

In the Museum we have some fabulous exhibitions:
"The Great War 1914/1918-Northland Remembers", "The Moa Cave" the story of Whangarei's very own Moa and until the 3rd July, "Auschwitz to Aotearoa" the story of 9 Jewish women, their survival of Auschwitz, they rebuilding of their lives and their immigration to New Zealand, plus much, much more.

Something for everyone in one very special place.
