Beginners: Produce a sterling silver ring set with the stone of your choice! You will learn soldering, filing, sanding, texturing, hammering and stone setting techniques as well as proper tool use and care, health and safety and basic design principles. We begin by learning how to work with copper and brass and you will make a practice ring in these metals before moving on to silver. Our gem dealer will visit us on the third class so you can purchase you stone/s directly from him with prices starting at 30 cents!

Level 2 - Create a silver pendant on a handmade chain and develop your own projects.

This course is for those with some experience in metalwork who are relatively confident with soldering. You will learn chain making, lost wax casting, wax modeling and be encouraged to develop ongoing projects. You will be able to challenge yourself in both design and practical work and shown how to experiment with new techniques.
