Clara Van Wel

After winning New Zealand’s Got Talent in 2012, Clara has worked alongside New Zealand music industry legends such as Don McGlashan (The Mutton Birds, Hollie Smith) and Joel Little (Lorde, Broods), both of whom were producers on her selfpenned, self titled debut album ‘Clara van Wel’ which was released to critical acclaim in 2013.

Clara returns to the stage after a brief hiatus from touring since she took part in the nationwide Classic Hits Winery Tour in 2013 along with Fat Freddy’s Drop, Anika Boh & Hollie, and The Adults, performing seventeen shows in under a month. Since then she has been honing both her performance and songwriting skills.

“I can’t wait to get performing again,” she says. “There’s nothing like the thrill of a live audience and the energy you create together as they respond to the music you’ve written... I wanted to take this time to really think about where my music is going, and I feel like I have something new and special to share”.

She cites Passenger, Bic Runga and BOY as major influences on her music — a blend of indie, jazz and folk.

Josh Rennie-hynes

Josh Rennie-Hynes will be crossing the Tasman in June of 2015 for his second full-length solo tour of New Zealand. See details listed below.

Rennie-Hynes is a rising Australian artist in the Americana and Folk genres, with strong New Zealand family connections.

Rennie-Hynes released his debut album February in July 2014 to acclaim and national radio coverage. February was produced by ARIA award winning Australian artist and producer Shane Nicholson. February is distributed by MGM.

Rennie-Hynes toured his album across New Zealand in late 2014. He returns to share more songs and be inspired by the New Zealand winter.

Rennie-Hynes says, “I love New Zealand as a country. Visually, It’s just a stunning place to tour. I played some great rooms with audiences who really listened. Why winter? I love the cold and I love the snow"

During the 2014 tour Rennie-Hynes penned a song called 'Land of Clouds'. He explains, "I was driving somewhere on the highway between Auckland and Napier, I'd played the last show of the tour the night before and I was reflecting on not just the shows, but the entire experience. Suddenly, this song and melody popped into my head. I pulled the car over by the side of a river and typed the lyrics out into my phone in ten minutes. It's a new favourite of mine and I think it'll make the cut on my next record".

Since the release of February, Rennie-Hynes has consistently toured across regional and urban Australia and New Zealand. He has played on a variety of festival and venue stages as special guest and headline act. Most recent tours were alongside Liam Gerner including an appearance as support for Paolo Nutini, and Caitlin Harnett.

Rennie-Hynes has seen his reputation as a profound performer and songwriter continue to grow in line with his fan base.
