There are 2km or 7km options and a kids activity pack to keep the little ones entertained along the walk.

8:30am - Walk registration opens (Pohutukawa Reserve, Red Beach)
9:15am - Memorial and butterfly release (Available for purchase on the website)
9:30am - Walk begins
10am-1pm - Free Family Funday (Western Reserve, Orewa)

The event aims to provide all ages with a spectacular day out with the emphasis on fun for the whole family on National Children’s Day. We encourage all participants young and old to have some fun and dress up for the event. The themes are purple, butterflies and rainbows so get your work colleagues, family and friends together and get creative!

The Angel Walk finishes at Western Reserve where we are hosting a free family funday with entertainment, rides, food, stalls and even a bike valet service.

Jeremy Redmore formerly from Midnight Youth will be playing an acoustic set from his debut solo album Clouds are Alive including hits 'Bad Philosopy, Run Run & One Day. There’s also the chance to learn some circus tricks with the performing art group Circability.

Kiara's Angel Walk is inspired by Kiara Morgan, a little girl from Orewa who was first diagnosed with a rare and incurable malignant rhabdoid tumour in her left kidney at the age of four months old.
Kiara lost her courageous battle with cancer at home in the arms of her family on October 24, 2011 just before her fifth birthday. She was a very special girl who lit up the hears of others. Throughout her life of treatments she never complained, sharing her amazing and infectious smile with everyone.

Whilst it began as a remembrance walk for Kiara it is a chance to remember all your loved ones. Grab your family, friends and workmates and discover this beautiful part of Auckland by foot or bike.
