Join award winning photographers Richard Young and Spencer Clubb on a 2 day workshop at Cape Palliser in the Wairarapa

This is a two day workshop from Friday evening to Sunday evening, staying at accommodation at Cape Palliser. During the two days we will shoot a range of times of day including sunrise and sunset and in a variety of locations. Richard will present some of his work and there will be ample time for review and feedback of images during the weekend. Depending on the weather, fitness and interest of the students we will shoot a diversity of subject matter including seascapes, wildlife photography at the seal colony, man-made features such as the fishing village of Ngawi and Cape Palliser lighthouse and natural landscape features such as The Pinnacles.

Appreciate the importance of planning for your shoot, including using computer based tools and mobile applications
Understand the advance use of shutter speed, aperture, ISO and white balance

Understand the benefits of filters such as neutral density, graduated neutral density and polarisers
Receive personal tips and learn special techniques.
Class Size

Workshops are limited to between four and eight students. Limiting class sizes allows us to provide you with the best learning environment possible, including expert guidance, instruction, and personal attention according to your learning style.


We will stay at accommodation at Lake Ferry. Two nights accommodation in a basic shared with 1-2 other people (option to upgrade to a private unit at extra cost) is included in the price of the workshop, with the option to upgrade to a private unit at extra cost.


Return transport to Cape Palliser is not included in the workshop fee. However if you live in Wellington, we are happy to arrange and share transport costs and drive you there. If traveling up from Wellington we will leave around 5pm on Friday and arrive back in Wellington by agreement sometime around 8pm on Sunday. Cape Palliser is located in the southern Wairarapa about 2 1/2 hours drive from Wellington. If you would like to meet us there, we will arrange to meet you at Cape Palliser at around 8pm on the Friday night.


All food except for your evening meal is included the workshop fee (two breakfasts and two packed lunches). We will dine at the pub/restaurant on Saturday night at our own cost. When booking, please let us know if you have any dietary requirements or food allergies.

The workshop price includes:
-Two nights accommodation in a basic shared room with 1-2 other people (option to upgrade to a private unit at extra cost)
-Two breakfasts, two lunches.
-Full tuition for the entire duration of the workshop from both Richard Young and Spencer Clubb
