The Revolution of Juan Escopeta (La Revolución de Juan Escopeta)
Animation
Mexico
90 mins
Directed By: Jorge Estrada

Synopsis :
Jorge A. Estrada directs The Revolution of Juan Escopeta, an animated production from Animex Studios, which takes up a national historical episode, telling the sad story of Gapo (Ulises Nieto), a child living in Guanajuato during the Mexican Revolution (1910-1918).

Without rhyme or reason, the boy’s life takes a tragic turn and the federal army forcibly removes him from the comfort of his home and takes him to join the ranks of battle; however, he meets a singular character: Juan Escopeta (Joaquin Cosío), a hired gun. Their relationship shows how each learns from the other how to interpret life and death and the feeling of love that prevails, even in combat.

Together they embark on a trip across the country in search of Gapo’s brother, “El Damián” who, they say, is a great revolutionary hero; but on the way they will face all manner of danger, as to the armed conflict is added the fact that one of them is the target of a dangerous villain.
