Friends of Rotorua Museum present a talk by well-known curator Mary Kisler about New Zealand born artist Frances Hodgkins (1969 – 1947), on Thursday 20 August 2015 at 5.30pm.

Kisler will talk about her current project to create an online catalogue raisonné (a comprehensive listing of all known artworks) of Frances Hodgkins, along with research for a book and an exhibition, which will focus on the importance of location for the artist.

Kisler is Senior Curator, Mackelvie Collection, International Art at Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki, responsible for a collection ranging from the 13th to the mid-20th centuries.
Kisler has been a regular guest on Kim Hill’s Saturday Morning Show on National Radio since 2001.

As well as leading several art tours to Europe and Australia, Kisler has also written a number of books including Angels & Aristocrats: Early European Art in New Zealand Public Collections, Godwit, Random House, 2010.

Join the Friends of Rotorua Museum at 5.30pm for a complimentary glass of wine followed by the talk at 6pm. Tickets are on sale at Rotorua Museum reception from 3 August and cost $10 for Friends members or $15 for non-members. Seats are limited.
