Join us for Squishy Circuits! This is a great way to involve younger kids in digital maker - using the familiar (playdough) to teach and experiment with the unfamiliar, new, and exciting (circuits).

Did you know that regular playdough is a great conductor of electricity? And did you know that with a few tweaks to the traditional recipe, you can make a resistive dough? Add a power source and you have a circuit - one that can make a light glow, make a buzzer buzz, or make a motor turn!

Learn about short circuits, series circuits, and more in an approachable way, aimed at kids 5+ with adult supervision (adults can learn too!). There will be a fact sheet provided, so you can carry on the maker experimentation at home.

There is no charge for children to participate, but a parent or other caregiver must accompany any child 13 years of age or younger.

If you have any questions or would like to book a space please contact Erika - erika.soeterik@aucklandcouncil.govt.nz
