Racing takes place on Taylor Road, out the front of the tennis courts heading down towards Coronation Road. Please note Taylor Road will be closed to all traffic, from the Intersection of Scott Ave and Taylor, down towards Coronation Road and Taylor.
If you're travelling to the event from out of "The Bridge" we recommend you park on the side streets around Taylor Road - please be considerate of the residents in the area and don't park over, or too close to driveways.

Have a Go Carts
If you didn't get around to building a trolley this year you can still take part in our "Have-A-Go" Trolleys on the day. These will be running at selected times throughout the day on a slightly shortened course, and for a gold coin donation, you (or your kids) will get a chance to have a controlled run down the racecourse in some of the trolleys.

We'll also have a small racecourse setup on the grass with some carts that the kids can be pushed around in.

The trolley derby is all about getting children and adults working together as a team, designing and building a soapbox cart. Culminating in a family fun day to help celebrate their work, where entrants get to race and display their trolleys.

If you can build it, you can race it - make sure to check out our website for all the rules that apply to the trolleys, plus awesome build plans and advice. Kids, get a parent, uncle, neighbour or grandparent to help you out. Adults, you can build a cart and race it yourself, or why not get a corporate team together at work and build and race it together.

We want to help encourage positive adult role models for youth in the community by providing a project that a child and adult can work on together - whether it's a Mum, Dad, Grandparent, neighbour, Uncle, or Auntie helping out.

Corporate teams and adults are also encouraged to enter with the Monarch of the Hill category, so if you think you've got what it takes get building now.

Why a trolley derby? We believe the journey is as important as the destination. Trolley Derby's help promote families and loved ones to work together, with adults teaching youngsters how to design, build and develop a cart, along the way teaching each other planning, workmanship, team work, sportsmanship and the sense of accomplishment in building something with their own hands.

All culminating with a family oriented community day where we can celebrate the completion of the project with a day full of good spirited competition - with races to see who's built the fastest soapbox racer, a show & shine, and lots more.
Plus heaps of other fun, family friendly activities also on the day to keep you entertained. Bring along your togs and towel too - there will be a massive Slip-And-Slide set up, along with a Bouncy Castle, Coffee Cart, and Icecream, plus the Mangere Bridge Cubs and Scouts Group will have Fundraising Food Stalls selling Popcorn, Candy Floss, Cakes and loads more. Bring along a picnic lunch and make a day of it.
