Violin and viola students are invited to apply for masterclasses presented by Professor Elisabeth Kufferath at the University of Auckland from 2-11 October.

Each participating student will receive:

- 3 x 1 hour private lessons
- 2 x 45 minute masterclass lessons (with piano)
- participation in final concert (11 October)

There will be 6 students selected for the course.

Applications
Students should provide a recording of 2 contrasting pieces to the Pettman National Junior Academy of Music by 18 September. Late applications will only be considered if there are places available.

Fee
The course fee is $500
Observers are welcome and free of charge

These masterclasses are presented as part of the Pettman Open Chamber Music Programme. Other coming events in this programme include:

Elisabeth Kufferath is Professor of Violin in Hannover, Germany. She is a frequent guest director/concertmaster of some of Europe’s finest chamber orchestras, including Camerata Academica Salzburg, Deutsche Kammerphilarmonie Bremen, Ensemble Resonanz, and Ensemble Oriol Berlin. She is a member of the Tetzlaff String Quartet and has performed in many of the most famous concert halls in Europe and the United States, including Philharmonie Hall in Berlin, Auditorioum du Louvre in Paris, Musikverein in Vienna, Carnegie Hall in New York, and the Library of Congress in Washington D.C.
