Mindfulness is about being attuned to sensory experience in the present moment, without identifying with or judging the experience. When practiced regularly, mindfulness leads to the development of compassion for self and others, and an increasing awareness of the joys of giving.

These free workshops will cover an introduction to mindfulness, a guided mindfulness meditation, and discussion about mindfulness, giving, and how these practices can help lead to reliable wellbeing and a whole range of other benefits. The event is hosted by Mindfulness for Change, who run mindfulness workshops with a vision of creating positive compassionate change in individuals, organisations, and society through mindfulness.

This Wellington Wellbeing event supports Mental Health Awareness Week. This year's theme is “Give – your time, your words, your presence”, which is one of the Five Ways to Wellbeing.
