Did you know around 1000 Hawke’s Bay people are diagnosed with cancer in a year?

Survival rates are constantly improving but the long term effects of treatment can
make it difficult for these people to get back to doing the things they enjoyed before.

Cancer Rehabilitation is a very necessary part of each person’s recovery plan but
unfortunately there is NO government funding for the rehabilitation of cancer patients.

What Is Cancer Rehabilitation?
Cancer rehab is about helping people:
- with painful stiff joints to move freely
- with weakened muscles to gain strength so they can exercise and play the sport they love
- with extreme deconditioning and fatigue to improve their quality of life and to assist with getting back to work

The Pinc & Steel Cancer Rehabilitation Trust was established in 2006 and is the
only registered charity in NZ dedicated to helping men, women and adolescents
to “live well” after cancer.

Align Pilates & Physiotherapy in Ahuriri are the Hawkes Bay provider for Pinc & Steel.

Money raised at Paddle for Hope Napier will be used to assist local Hawkes Bay
people to access Pinc, Steel and the new Paddleon program.
