Alliance Française Palmerston North organises a "New Zealand Premiere" Friday 30 October. The film will be "Diplomacy" and will be sreen at Cinema Gold, Palmerston North.

This movie was screened during the Australia French Film Festival. The film premiered at the 64th Berlin International Film Festival on 12 February 2014. It was also screened at the Telluride Film Festival in August 2014. It won the César Award for Best Adaptation at the 40th César Awards.

Synopsis:
French/German historical drama about General Dietrich von Choltitz who was ordered by Hitler to blow up the city of Paris. However, a game of diplomatic brinksmanship stalls the military plans. Set on the night of 24 August 1944, Diplomacy explores the destruction and anger of World War II, and decisions that mean the difference between life and death.
