Cross exciting new musical frontiers with the NZSO’s Bold Worlds tour, a celebration of intrepid new steps in classical music.

Let the frenzy of Peruvian Jimmy Lopez’s Perú Negro take you over – an uninhibited Latin dance for the orchestra. Then untamed Finnish clarinet master Kari Kriikku, famous for his “molten virtuosity” and white-hot live performances, will play Hakola’s rapid-fire Clarinet Concerto.

Lutosławski’s Concerto for Orchestra made his name in the West. This mid-twentieth century work transforms folk melodies into profoundly bold and beautiful music, marking a new post-war confidence for the composer’s native Poland.

Join us for the thrill of this vibrant and eclectic programme.
