In 1975, a group set off from Te Hapua to march to Wellington to raise awareness of Māori land loss. Known as Te Roopu o te Matakite, the group was led by the redoubtable Whina Cooper and adopted the slogan 'not one more acre'. The impact of the march has been far-reaching - it raised the profile of land issues and influenced other developments regarding the Treaty of Waitangi.

Taking as its starting point Christian Heinegg's comprehensive photographic record of the march, this exhibition considers its enduring significance and the status of the marchers' concerns today.
