Thomas Marshall Percy (Hāmi) Grace was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant upon the outbreak of World War One and died during the Wellington Regiment’s legendary assault on Chunuk Bair in August 1915. Prior to the war Hāmi was a Wellington College Old Boy and talented representative of cricket and rugby for Wellington.

Join The Great War Exhibition and New Zealand Cricket Museum as we commemorate the centenary event of the Battle of Chunuk Bair.

The New Zealand Cricket Museum’s Director Jamie Bell will speak of the historic relationship between Cricket field and Battlefield. In addition, Te Papa’s contemporary Maori Curator, Puawai Cairns will share her expert knowledge on this particular hero of Chunuk Bair. Many of Hāmi's belongings will be on display during this talk, which has been made possible thanks to Wellington College.

Join us on Saturday 8 August 2015 at 11am in the Foyer of the Dominion Museum Building.
