Afterwards there will be an opportunity to mingle and enjoy light refreshments. Follow Studio One Toi Tū on Facebook and sign up to our mailing list to receive information about dates, topics and speakers.

We are delighted to announce Doris de Pont will be our first speaker for 2015. Doris de Pont began her fashion career in the early 1970s, founding her first major label Design: Doris de Pont in Auckland in 1984. After twenty-four years and six label incarnations, in early 2008 Doris retired her label to pursue post-graduate study and, more recently, to work as a freelance fashion curator. Over her long career, Doris’s innate understanding of garment construction, openness to outside ideas, and talent for collaboration with some of New Zealand’s leading artists has set her work apart from trends, and also from the work of other leading New Zealand fashion designers. Artists with whom Doris has collaborated include Richard Killeen, John Pule, Paul Hartigan, Sally Tagg, and the poet Gregory O’Brien.
