The Pacific Dance Choreographic Laboratory has been going since 2009. This is a special opportunity given to 3 selected Pacific dance artists each year in which they devise and develop an original dance work. This year's selected choreographers are - Hadleigh Pouesi, Jahra Rager Wasasala and Albert Fale.

This showing of works will be held at Corban Estate Arts Centre's Opanuku Studio and will showcase what these talented dance artists have developed during the lab.

Hadleigh Pouesi works with the Freshman's Dance Crew to present Tall Poppy, a piece about the syndrome within the performing arts.

Jahra Wasasala presents Blood/d/runk, a solo piece about the celebration of women of colour, the polarisation of body perception, earth and ritual connections, and the role of women within dance. Jahra has worked with spoken word artist Grace Taylor and presents a mix of spoken word and dance.

Albert Fale presents 'Le Fa'avae' (The Foundation) which explores the question, what are the foundational movements of Samoan dance?

This event has been organised by Pacific Dance NZ with the help of - Creative NZ, Foundation North and Auckland Council.
