PechaKucha Night Christchurch and Heritage New Zealand present:
PechaKucha Night Christchurch vol 23

Where: Isaac Theatre Royal, 145 Gloucester Street
When: Doors 7.30pm, Starts at 8.20pm

We have been very lucky to collaborate with some amazing partners over the years, and this event is no different. Hosted in Christchurch’s latest restoration victory, we invite you to think about heritage differently under the delicately restored dome of the Isaac Theatre Royal.

As always our speakers are diverse and engaging. While our theme sits within heritage, the presenters have taken liberties within this and topics you can expect on the night range from: Selfies ruining storytelling, Magical Maori Mysteries of the Canterbury Plains, the wonders of small wooden huts in Antarctica, becoming historians through Instagram, and of course we have plenty about Christchurch’s own heritage including archaeological finds in the rebuild, processing grief through cataloguing quake memories, our cycling history, long lost arcades, and what is really going on in that Arts Centre of ours, plus more!

Please join us from 7.30pm on Monday 4th May. Tickets are on sale now from Eventbrite and these events always sell out so get in quick!

A few words about our collaborator:
Heritage New Zealand is an autonomous Crown Entity committed to ensuring New Zealand’s heritage is valued, respected, and preserved for present and future generations. The organisation maintains the New Zealand Heritage List, manages 48 heritage properties, and regulates the modification of archaeological sites. Heritage New Zealand also helps New Zealanders engage with their history and heritage through outreach events. The Christchurch Office of Heritage New Zealand are thrilled to be collaborating with PechaKucha Night Christchurch for volume 23.

And our gracious host:
For well over 100 years the Theatre Royal has been at the heart of the performing arts in Canterbury. Renamed the Isaac Theatre Royal in 2005, and now reopened after a $40 million rebuild and restoration programme following the earthquakes of 2011, the Isaac Theatre Royal shines again as the premium theatrical venue in the Christchurch central city.  With a spectacular rebuild complete, and major events returning to the central city, your support is needed now to ensure the ongoing prosperity of this national treasure.

Take the Stage.
You can donate, be it large or small, and be part of ensuring that our worldwide, acclaimed and celebrated theatre will remain spectacular and continue to bring smiles and joy to all future generations. Every dollar you donate will be matched by the Christchurch Earthquake Appeal Trust, so any donation you make will be instantly doubled.
Make sure that the Isaac Theatre Royal is able to deliver local, national and international live entertainment for yourself, your family and the future families of New Zealand.

Every Donation Deserves an Ovation.
That’s why, all donors, big and small, have the opportunity to have their name honoured on a special plaque back stage at the Isaac Theatre Royal for all time, so that performing artists from all over the world can see who helped to keep the theatre alive.

Your Supporting Role Will Make All the Difference.
