Come along and help with this community planting day. This is a joint planting day for volunteers and supporters from Landcare Okareka, Rotorua branch of Forest & Bird and Rotorua Botanical Society - all volunteers are very welcome. We will be planting in the Lake Tikitapu Scenic Reserve, Loop Road (Lake Tikitapu end) opposite Benn Road turn off. Plenty of parking along the roadside. Tikitapu Scenic Reserve is where volunteers from Rotorua branch of Forest & Bird have been successfully carrying out animal pest control to protect native mistletoeover the past 13 years or so.

We have around 1000 New Zealand native plants to put in. We will planting lots of mistletoe host species "Pseudopanax arboreus" along with many other species of NZ plants. Please wear suitable clothing and strong footwear. Gardening gloves are a good idea and bring your planting spade.
Everyone welcome - no dogs please. Morning tea will be provided thanks to DOC and Landcare Okareka.
