Horowhenua District Council's Regulatory Services staff are holding public 'open day' sessions at various locations throughout the District from September 29.

Residents are encouraged to take the opportunity to attend a session nearby to ask questions and discuss topics such as:

Building - work requiring consents and work that is exempt, fees, do-it-yourself projects
Liquor - use of Council facilities, special licence needs, requirements to become a bar manager
Health - what food grades mean, selling food at events or to fundraise, opening a food business
Animal Control - dog registrations, nuisance issues, fees and charges, how to get a reduced fee
General - noise issues, parking.

The sessions are an opportunity for people to sit and talk face-to-face with staff in an informal setting. Sessions are free with no appointment necessary.
