Resource Efficiency is an international City & Guilds qualification to gain professional development on sustainable business management topics. The course consists of 95 in-class guided learning hours and approximately 30 self-directed hours completing an audit on your business, or a volunteer business. This course is taught over the course of 4 months. The first day is on a Saturday, and the remaining days will be taught on a day of the week that suits the enrolled students. We have four start dates remaining this year, October 31st, November 14th, November 28th and December 12th.

This course focuses on the skills necessary to develop environmentally friendly working places relating to waste, energy, transport and water. On successful completion the learner will be equipped with the skills and knowledge in order to make their workplace more environmentally friendly, while making cost savings to the business.

Four sections to the course;
1. Contributing to business resource efficiency
2. Energy efficiency in the workplace
3. Waste management in the workplace
4. Water efficiency in the workplace

1. Contributing to business resource efficiency
Learning outcome:
- Know the importance of resource efficiency for business
- Know how to identify opportunities for waste management in business
- Know targets for resource efficiency within a business
- Be able to recommend changes within a business that support resource efficiency
- Be able to improve personal working practices in support of resource efficiency for business

2. Energy efficiency in the workplace
Learning outcome:
- Know the importance of efficient energy usage to sustainability
- Know how to identify opportunities for improved energy efficiency
- Be able to work to improve energy efficiency for an organisation

3. Waste management in the workplace
Learning outcome:
- Know the importance of sustainable waste management
- Know how to identify opportunities for minimising waste
- Be able to work to minimise waste for an organisation

4. Water efficiency in the workplace
Learning outcome:
- Know the importance of efficient water usage to sustainability
- Know how to identify opportunities for improved water efficiency
- Be able to work to improve water efficiency for an organisation
