This retrospective exhibition takes a look at Sheyne's works on paper and paintings from 2010-2015.

Sheyne Tuffery is a Wellington based multi-media visual artist whose primary mediums are painting, animation and printmaking. Well known for the dynamic style of his prints and woodcuts, Sheyne describes himself as "a paper architect who uses his work to create and represent his own cultural context and sense of belonging."
An expert printmaker, he exhibits widely, and has lead many public art projects. Wellingtonians may be familiar with his recent mural in Mt Cook, celebrating the area's chequered military and penal history.

*Sheyne will be taking a 2 day block printing workshop in the gallery space Sat 11 and Sun 12 April, and a piece of the student's work will then be hung in gallery alongside his. See our separate listing on Eventfinder for more information*

The exhibition opens on Thursday April 2nd from 5-7pm: then runs April 4 - 28.

The Backspace Gallery is located at 8 Kitchener St, Martinborough, and is open 10.30am-5pm Mon-Sun.
NB we are closed on Good Friday (April 3rd)
