Internationally acclaimed soprano Anna Leese joins with New Zealand colleagues and emerging artists to present programmes of Liebe und Leben love and life. Anna's impressive successes to date include her debut at the 2006 BBC Proms in an all-Mozart programme with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and Sir Roger Norrington, and she has appeared in a number of opera gala concerts with Jose Carreras. She made her Covent Garden debut as Tamiri (Il re pastore) and has performed for the Canadian Opera Company, Opera ln; Flanders Opera and Opera Holland Park and our own New Zealand Opera. Her recent engagements include Musetta in La boheme at the Royal Albert Hall, a Wigmore Hall recital, Brahms' Requiem with St Thomas's Choral Society, London and Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni for New Zealand Opera.

Anna is joined by emerging artist, mezzo soprano Bianca Andrews, currently studying in the Artist Masters programme at the prestigious the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. Tenor, Andrew Glover made his operatic debut in Il barbiere di Siviglia with New Zealand Opera with whom he has since sung many roles. He has performed with the Tokyo New Philharmonic Orchestra, New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, Auckland Chamber Orchestra, Christchurch Symphony Orchestra and the Perth Orchestra. Now based in New Zealand, baritone Robert Tucker graduated from the Australian Opera Studio in 2005 and has worked professionally with IFAC Opera Japan, New Zealand Opera and English Chamber Opera.

Pianist, Kirsten Simpson is an Artist Teacher for accompanists at Te Koki New Zealand School of Music and has vast experience in working with singers including performances with Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Dame Malvina Major, Sir Howard Morrison, and Hayley Westenra. She has accompanied on the Solti Te Kanawa Accademia Di Bel Canto in Italy, with classes given by Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Mirella Freni, Leo Nucci, Dennis O'Neill, Jose Carreras and Frederica von Stade.

These two engaging programmes of lieder and art song, combined with a New Zealand work are sure to appeal to all audiences.
