Ukulele Open Mic Sessions

Come and enjoy the sound of ukulele hosted in the Rotorua Museum mezzanine. Open to both players and non-players alike, UkeBox is a forum for all who enjoy ukulele and music.

Commencing Sunday 19 July 2015, the UkeBox sessions will run every third Sunday in the month at 3pm.

Rotorua’s own ukulele group, the Thermaleles, will begin with a short performance followed by a community sing/play along and an open mic session for anyone who would like to perform.

The sessions are run by the Thermaleles in conjunction with David Jensen who is currently running ukulele lessons at Mokoia Community Centre. They will include hands-on learning opportunities demonstrating the art of ukulele playing.

Requests for material to be covered or songsheets to be used during UkeBox, should be emailed to or posted to Rotorua UkeBox Facebook page.

Dates for 2015:
Sunday 19 July 2015
Sunday 16 August 2015
Sunday 20 September 2015

Participation and watching UkeBox performances in Rotorua Museum’s mezzanine is free of charge, although UkeBox will be asking for a gold coin donation to assist with administration costs.
