Rare Opportunity to See Rare Shells
Rare and beautiful shells from around the world will be on display to the public at the New Zealand Shell Show.

This opportunity only comes to Wellington every 4 years and this is the first time the Show has been held at the Petone Club.

The Show will feature competitive and educational displays of NZ and world-wide shells – also shells, shell art, books and craft materials for sale. There is an activity table for kids with a free lucky dip and the Show is very affordable.

The shells on display will range from tiny to huge, will come from our local beaches and from special, remote places around the world, and will be every colour of the rainbow.

The Show is organised by the Wellington Shell Club, a group of enthusiasts who have been organising shell shows since 1995. It is a not-for-profit club established in 1955 and associated with Te Papa Tongarewa Museum of New Zealand. The Club aims to encourage knowledge about and enthusiasm for shells, in a friendly atmosphere. Its members come from all over the Wellington region and further afield, including overseas. Some members travel widely to pursue their enthusiasm for shells and some are significant winners at overseas shell shows.
