The Mayor's Movie returns to Silo Cinema for Auckland Anniversary Weekend in 2015 - with a golden Kiwi classic, "Goodbye Pork Pie"

There was a time in New Zealand when, growing up, you either drove a Mini or a VW Beetle. This film, produced by legendary local film duo Mune and Murphy, draws upon the sentiment of that era.

Goodbye Pork Pie follows the story of a young misfit, Gerry - who hires a yellow mini in Kaitaia using a stolen license - and John - whose girlfriend of six years has just left him and moved to Invercargill. John is devastated and needs to talk to her. He has no transport and needs a ride. Together with the little mini that Gerry names "Pork Pie", they hit the road to travel the length of the country. Their high speed exploits earn them the name "the Blondini gang". The police, however, take a dim view of this and make it their mission in life to stop the Blondini boys from reaching their destination.

Silo Cinema will be bordered by Silo Markets, serving great food, art, accessories, clothing, crafts and more.

The bright red Silo Park container bar will be on hand to pour local craft beers, beautiful wines and New Zealand beverages.
