Hot on the heels of the unprecedented success of last summer’s Spectrum this latest extravaganza will run from 12 December 2015 to 17 April 2016. With 7 exhibition spaces, 10 big city centre walls, 15 of the world’s best street artists, Spectrum promises to take street art in Christchurch to the next level.

Spectrum will encapsulate every tint and tone of the world’s favourite art form and explore the myriad of ways that street artists get their work seen. The YMCA’s huge building on Hereford Street is the festival's home, there visitors will discover seven different exhibition spaces and explore street art from every possible angle – everything from a kiwi rainforest to an urban jungle, and from simple letter forms to a global artistic explosion. Beyond what’s happening inside, visitors can take to the city streets to hunt down the next series of huge walls to be transformed into stunning works of art.

Christchurch will again be treated to a truly international artist line up with more countries represented than ever before; these international stars will be complimented by an array of New Zealand’s finest. Beyond these artists, who will be collaborating to produce the main, massive exhibition space at the YMCA, we have invited Flox, Selina Miles, Solfles and the DTR Crew to produce a series of stunning, interactive installations at the venue.

All of our headline artists will be producing work on big walls across the CBD, as we continue the process of turning the city of rubble into the city of street art!

Watch out for more details about the Great Art Giveaway, which will see the Botanic Gardens overflow with Cantabrians hunting for tokens to win free art. Over $5000 worth of fantastic artwork will be given away, all you need to do is find a token!

Spectrum promises to become one of Christchurch’s annual signature destinations and one that will have people talking, not just here, but all over the world!
