Strike of The Beast 3

After two successful festivals that have decimated and deafened audiences, Headless Horseman is proud to announce the return of Strike of the Beast in early 2015. The third incarnation of New Zealand’s much-loved metal festival features an accomplished line-up of local and international bands. They’ll be hitting the stage to deliver black, death, grind, punk, and traditional metal at Wellington’s home of heavy music, Valhalla, on Saturday, 24 January 2015.

Strike of the Beast 3 is set to be bigger, badder, noisier, and more diverse than ever. For the first time, two overseas acts have been added to the festival’s line-up. Australia’s traditional metallers Johnny Touch are crossing the ditch, riding high on the success of their highly regarded 2014 debut album, Inner City Wolves. They’re joined by fellow countrymen and blackened thrash devotees Bastardizer, who have drawn serious praise for their 2014 debut, Enforcers of Evil.

Strike of the Beast 3 also collects some of New Zealand’s most visceral metal talent from around the country. Wellington’s Bulletbelt, fresh from their first round of touring their well-received Rise of the Banshee album, and playing support slots with Psycroptic, Sepultura and Krisiun, are promising a very special set with a few surprises. Joining Bulletbelt are Auckland thrash and death metal bands Nullifier and Inside Arkham, and classic metal four-piece Forsaken Age. Also playing are Wellington black/thrash titans Execrate, and from the South come Christchurch thrash metallers Awakened Inferno.

Everyone likes to start the new year off with a bang, so why not add a crash, roar, and heavy metal riot in there too. Tickets for Strike of the Beast 3 are $13 (plus booking fee), and are available at Under the Radar from 13th November 2014.
