The first concert in their 2015 series sees Hamilton trumpeter Bill Stoneham and Auckland organist Timothy Noon combining once again in the superbly balanced combination of trumpet and organ.
The first half of the concert features baroque concerti by those two Venetian greats, Antonio Vivaldi and Tomaso Albinoni. Not to be out done, the grandfather of the baroque JS Bach will also shine through organist Timothy Noon who will perform a prelude from that monumental work 'the well tempered clavier'. The second half sees a change of mood to the romantic, with trumpeter Bill Stoneham showing his flaunted virtuosity through one of Jean-Baptiste Arban's famous sets of variations. Timothy Noon will be showcasing his superb musicianship through the composer Louis Vierne, not before the evening ties off with some beautiful melodies from Mascagni and Rachmaninov.
