The Maritime Museum’s wooden tall ship, Breeze, is sailing north for the summer. Usually based in Auckland’s Viaduct Harbour, this January you’ll be able to climb on board in the Whangarei region for a range of special sailing experiences.

Join the crew for morning or afternoon sailing trips out of Marsden Cove Marina. It’s an opportunity to climb aboard, meet the crew and experience New Zealand’s maritime heritage first hand. It’s also a great chance to enjoy views of the coastline’s beautiful coves and islands that you don’t usually get to see.

You can get involved and help the crew set the sails, or simply sit back and enjoy the stunning views of this beautiful island-dotted coast.

Crewed by a team of Museum volunteers, Breeze's Northland trip is a chance to showcase a piece of New Zealand’s maritime heritage to communities up and down the coast. With only 12 places available, taking part in a morning or afternoon sailing on Breeze in the Whangarei region is a unique experience to remember.

Free parking, toilets and a cafe/ bar are all available at Marsden Cove Marina.
