MTG Hawkes Bay will be holding a Taonga pūoro, instrument craft workshop hosted by Tryphena Cracknell - Curator Taonga Māori

The porotiti is a small disc that creates sound when it is spun on a cord. The instrument’s function in earlier times was to accompany karakia (prayers). It was also used to set pitch for new compositions of waiata koroua and in some areas it was used for healing purposes.

$10 per person - Suitable for all ages (younger children will need parent help)
