You are warmly invited to our meaningful Afternoon Tea at St Andrews Church, on 17 October 2015.

Join us for a cuppa that keeps on giving and helps restore sight to someone blinded by cataracts.

Bring your friends along, together you will transform lives. Every ticket sold contributes towards a cataract surgery to someone in need. Enjoy a lovely cuppa together by changing the lives of the world’s poorest people.

The cause
Today nearly 18 million people in less developed countries are living in blindness caused by cataracts. Cataracts can only be cured through an operation – an operation these people just can’t afford.

Double disadvantaged by poverty + disability they are often excluded from their community although they are only one sight saving treatment from being able to see again.

Your ticket for cbm’s “Taste & See Afternoon Tea” will help expert surgeons delicately remove a cloudy lens and replace it with a clear, new lens that will last a lifetime.

The experience
We will delight you with dainty tea time treats complemented by an exclusive range of Dilmah’s fine tea – but that’s not all. You will also have the opportunity to taste tea blindfolded - an experience that will sharpen your sensory awareness of touch, taste, sound and smell lost by so many in the world's poorest areas.

The entertainment
Dilmah tea master Jon Houldsworth will take you on a unique blindfolded sensory journey with an exclusive selection of fine teas to taste. While learning about the history and traditions of tea over the centuries you are sure to pick up some practical tips for a true fine tea experience at home, as well as some new teas to enjoy.

We encourage you to bring your own china tea cup. A fine china competition will give you the chance to win a lovely tea hamper. But do not worry if you don’t have fine china – we will have plenty of regular tea cups available.

Be in to win. The afternoon also features a spot prize draw for an attractive range of prizes kindly donated by our generous sponsors.

Tickets are limited and will sell fast. Ticket price includes a $15 tax deductible donation helping provide a cataract surgery. All other proceeds will support the ministry of cbm.
