Teen Workshop // Youth 213
Tanja Nola
Age Year 9 +

Immerse yourself in the practice of art making and art thinking. Students work toward developing their own visual language while learning the skills needed to support their ideas through drawing, painting, ceramics, printmaking and 3D construction. This term will focus on developing ideas through the exploration of various media and techniques. With over 20 years’ experience in youth art education, Tanja has crafted a unique approach that allows students to discover their potential while building confidence through practical application. This distinctive learning experience is enhanced by small class numbers, generous two hour sessions and the provision of a range of quality materials. Many young artists have enjoyed attending this course that encourages experimentation and independent thinking and is a great bridge for those considering further education and training in the visual arts.

Tanja Nola graduated with a BFA from London’s Central School of Art and Design in 1987 and an MFA from Elam in 2003. Tanja’s teaching, which started in 1990, has spanned community groups and several tertiary institutions. “It is a privilege to teach and work with people and in particular young art makers. Over the years I have enjoyed finding new ways to help students to tap into their innate knowledge and to become confident in who they are and what they can do.”
