The classy cats of The GC and the full-time froth squadron over at Cuba HQ have combined our brightest minds to bring you some theme we reckon will have you popping ’n’ locking your little limbs all the way down to the sandy shores of our favourite student bar. A Ko Pha Ngan night of Neon and UV Colour that promises to be the Worlds Greatest Full Moon Party the people of the Ilam Islands have ever seen!

Pull out your brightest attire, slap on the body paint or get painted on entry if your creative juices are lacking (promise it’s not just a ploy to get the CUBA lads some action for once…) And make sure those shorts have some room to move, because we’ve got a bucket load of premium tunes to get you grooving till the full moon goes down.

As seen at Tea Party 2014, Just A Gent is one up and comer who will get you up and coming. And with support from Christchurch’s own, That Ruse Kid, this local legend is sure to have you howling for more.

Just a Gent

What better way to celebrate 18 years than by grooving your way around Aussie and NZ. And with the likes of Skrillex, Diplo, Dillon Francis and What So Not giving his music the old thumbs up, Jacob Grant has got the tunes covered for this birthday bash.

Over the past year the young producer, charmingly dubbed Just A Gent, has kept his Soundcloud profile steadily populated with an impressive catalogue of original works and remixes. Charting at #1 on music blog aggregator Hype Machine, his remix of American Authors’ “Best Day of My Life” garnered over 1.3 million plays and ended up being signed by Island Def Jam. After received airplay on BBC’s 1Xtra, Triple J and Pete Tong’s Evolution Radio 2014 has led to huge achievements for the young man, such as earning the title of Red Bull X Stoney Roads’ Breakthrough Artist of the Year, being announced the winner of Triple J’s Unearthed Competition, as well as his debut Australian Tour. In addition to last year’s list of accomplishments, Just A Gent’s remix of ‘Chains’ will be featured as a bonus track on Nick Jonas’ forthcoming début album, along with official remixes for the likes of ZHU, Madison Avenue and The Aston Shuffle and his début EP coming soon. Full of unique ideas and with many more projects to come, Just a Gent will be one to keep an eye on for quite some time.

That Ruse Kid

Ruse's ability behind the turntables has made him 3x Decknology Champion (2012, 2013, 2014) and a NZ DMC finalist. Moving on from his battling roots Ruse's party rocking skills have seen him smash festivals such as Rhythm n Alps, Southern Shakedown, Equinox and Soulstice as well as supporting acts such as Chali 2na (Jurassic 5), Andy C, Krafty Kuts, Ghostface Killah, The Pharcyde, DJ Shortkut (Beat Junkies), DJ J.Period, Gramatik, Stickybuds, Mr Bill, Fred V & Grafix, Spectrasoul, P-Money, State Of Mind, @Peace, K+Lab, Isaac Aesili, Julien Dyne, Raiza Biza and many more.

There is no doubt Ruse possesses the skills, knowledge and passion to hold down a long future in the game, with heavyweight international support slots coming up and releases of new, tightly produced tracks, the future looks bright! Keep your ears and eyes open because no doubt you’ll be hearing more about Ruse.
