Take the current lack of green-shell mussel spat in the Marlborough Sounds, the great fire of Rome in 64 AD, pot-holes in the roads of Great Britain, the huge volcanic eruption that formed Lake Taupo, the development of beat-boxing, and the extinction of the Silphium plant. ….Oh, and a flying cow. On the face of it these things might not seem to have a lot in common. Yet they are all unforgettably woven together in the plot of "The Last Heart", written by Rick Edmonds, and the latest production by the Havelock Theatre Company.

This colourful, cosmopolitan, and captivating comedy tells the story of how a local Department of Conservation Ranger discovers the link between the Marlborough Sounds and Ancient Rome.
