Friends of Rotorua Museum present a talk by experienced gallery owner Robert Eagle about the art market in New Zealand. The talk will take place at Rotorua Museum on Thursday 16 July 2015 at 5.30pm.

Eagle will share his own observations of the New Zealand art world from his 15 years as a mentor, art broker, art evaluator and currently as owner of Whisper Art & Object Gallery in Matamata.

A former Army chef, Eagle became interested in the arts when he moved to Wellington and joined the Academy of Fine Arts. Initially he exhibited paintings and sculptures in Wellington and did client commissions, but frequent visits to auction houses and galleries ignited his fascination with the art market as a whole.

For the last 15 years he has been involved with a number of aspects of the art world, including art evaluations, gallery management, brokering art, mentoring artists, judging the Tauranga Art Awards and art charity work.

Join the Friends of Rotorua Museum at 5.30pm for a complimentary glass of wine followed by the talk at 6pm. Tickets cost $10 for Friends members or $15 for non-members.
Seats are limited. Visit Rotorua Museum reception to book and pay for tickets.
