The ANZAC day commemorations are an integral part of our country’s history. There is an increasing awareness from all generations in honouring this day and what it means for us as a country and as individuals.
Be part of this exciting and expanding project, an interactive workshop to create handmade red poppies commemorating ANZAC – symbolic of remembrance, honour and peace. This workshop offers you an opportunity to come together to tell stories of your ANZAC family history, while hand-making a red poppy.
By honouring and learning from our past, we can discuss our collective desires for a peaceful future. Poppies can be taken home or become part of a bigger public display at ANZAC. This workshop is free of charge (the artist will accept koha) and suitable for families and people of all ages (young children may need help from adults).
Booking details: Register on the day. This artwork project started as a response to encourage people to come together and consciously create a symbol of peace and whilst doing so share their stories.
Friday 10 April, 10:00am – 1:00pm
