Two one act operas which explore our relationship, both good and bad, with the telephone. Directed by Wayne Morris, recently returned to New Zealand after three decades of performing in and directing opera throughout the UK and Europe, and starring the incredible Deborah Wai Kapohe.
The Telephone by Gian-Carlo Menotti is a light-hearted look at relationships and how phones can get in the way, while Poulenc's The Human Voice takes us on a journey into the despairing mind of an abandoned woman. Both operas will be accompanied by Bruce Greenfield at the piano.
