Come and check out six beautiful Central Hawke’s Bay Gardens – The Tikokino District Gardens Fun Weekend is perfect for budding garden enthusiasts and those who enjoy an easy stroll through beautiful country gardens. The weekend also features stall holders, entertainment, plants for sale, local arts, craft, food, wine providers from around the region and lots more.

Tikokino is located on State Highway 50, approximately 45 minutes from Napier and Hastings.
Running November 21st & 22nd, 9am - 5pm. Entry is $5 per garden and brochures and maps are available from each of the gardens. Eftpos is available at Tikokino Paeonies, cash or cheque at the other gardens.

The gardens open across the weekend are:

Awatea Daffodils
SH 50, 11km's from the Maraekakaho Monument.
This beautifully landscaped country garden contains many old trees and shrubs along with a pond. There will be a range of stalls to look at, and don’t forget to check out their stunning vegetable garden!

Gwavas Homestead and Garden
SH 50, 7km north of Tikokino
Gwavas Garden enjoys nine hectares of woodland garden. First planted in 1880, It is a "Registered Group of Historic Trees" (RNZ;Inst.Hort) containing a wide collection of trees and shrubs; also a native bird habitat. Over the weekend take a stroll around the beautiful garden at Gwavas, or go on a Homestead tour for just $5. Morning and afternoon tea will be available as well as delicious assortments of jams, jellies, fudge and a variety of stalls.

Awatea Country Garden
SH 50 1km north of Tikokino
A Scarlet Oak-lined drive leads to an all-season garden. Mixed plantings of azaleas, camellias and rhododendrons, a woodland walkway, densely planted beds of perennials, lilies and roses makes this a delightful garden to visit. Throughout the weekend there will be plants available for sale, Central Hawke’s Bay artist Susan Higginson will be onsite or you can simply enjoy a wander through the country garden. Tikokino Paeonies
Cnr State Highway 50 and Buckland Road, Tikokino
A display of ninety varieties of Paeonies welcomes you at Tikokino Paeonies. The circular rose and perennial walk, water feature and large parterre are backed by a large variety of trees and shrubs. Across the weekend enjoy a wander through the garden, take home a beautiful punch of Paeonies, plants for the garden and come and check out some great local stall holders like Lime Rock Wines and Ellsgrove Olive Oil, as well as the essentials - coffee, cut lunches, crafts and so much more. Eftpos available.

Springvale Garden
412 Holden Rd, Springvale Station, Tikokino
A romantic country garden full of cottage plants and roses. Over the weekend there will be homespun clothing items for sale with other stall holders and of course the garden will be open to wander through and enjoy.

Two Mile Garden
1626 Tikokino-Waipawa Road
Two mile Garden is a beautiful all season garden with many shaded areas in a park like setting. Wander the hedge lined walkways and admire the old fashioned roses amongst many other trees and shrubs. There with be many interesting stalls to look at.
