The Tux is an exciting and adventurous acoustic folk-jazz ensemble featuring Richard Leschen, Yvette Audain & Eamon Edmundson-Wells. They play acoustic music like no others and have a unique progressive sound steeped in Americana folk, jazz, and prog rock traditions - there are a lot of musical landscapes to be explored from this trio composed of classically trained, jazz-schooled, and grass roots musos.

Richard is also a long-time Deadhead, and because this year is the 50th anniversary of The Grateful Dead, The Tuxedo Folk Band will also play some tributes to them, but probably not too many of their three-hour jams! Tie-dyes, twirlers, and crazy coloured balloons are welcome.

Richard (Guitar, Vocals):
“Richard draws on the deep roots of his southern USA heritage – country, bluegrass, blues – to craft intricate, fascinating songs with a wide geographical sweep and a historical one.” - Nick Bollinger.

“Intimate and ambient, the real richness comes from the brilliant lyrics; very melodic, engaging and genuinely far-reaching with significant depth, this is low key brilliance.” – Anja Glowazc, NZ Musician

Yvette (Clarinet, Saxophone, Recorder, Whistles, Vocals):
“Yvette’s music always has a freshness of her own, often a quirky sense of humour and an artistic freedom, especially in the more Eastern-style pieces.” - Katherine Hebley, cellist Auckland Philarmonia Orchestra

Eamon (Double Bass):
A local jazzo familiar to many, Eamon has played with Ruckus, Tauranga Big Band, Chelsea Prastiti Band, Jeff Henderson & John Bell Band
