The Urenui Country Market has been created to bring our community together - to gather. It has its own country flavour that celebrates our unique rural and coastal lifestyles and rich bio-region. It will operate rain or shine. If it's raining we will be squeezing into the Urenui Community Hall next door. It's a market place for locals to open up ‘shop’ for one day a month and to enjoy community interaction at its best. Throughout January we will ‘open’ every Sunday while the beach lovers are in town. We strive to have something different each time... the army tanks were a great hit, as was the Taranaki Mustang Club line up, Bellydancing, Urenui resident musician Michael Watson fronts the regular live music lineup with his great voice and guitar playing talents. Jo Watson is our creative spirited goddess and on the 4th Jan brought her bubble delight to town.. the kids loved chasing them.

The 11th January we are starting our Colouring Competition for the kids and they can collect their form from the market this Saturday. Jo will have a creative corner where the kids can colour in their entries with table, bales and pens ready and waiting. Note for parents..Entries need to be handed in by 10am on the 18th January but we would love to have them sooner. You can drop them off at the Mud Bay Cafe, garage or 4SQ. You can download a copy off the website - the link will be on the home page. There are two age categories: ages 2-7, 8-12 with a few wildcard surprises. Follow our FB page Urenui Country Market and keep up with winners, photos, feedback and more.

Each week we offer a wide range of stalls & trucks with food, gelato, coffee (but could do with an additional cart), amazing stalls filled with quality items that are hand and machine crafted or homegrown and baked all from our talented and resourceful locals.. Knits, Art, Surplus Produce Store, Fresh produce, Bakes, Preserves, Dips & Breads, Garden Art, Interior Design, Local artists, Farming Tools & Supplies, Baleage - all in the beautiful school grounds of Urenui Primary School. See you there! Ph 027 232 5554 for enquiries.
