The only Auckland chamber orchestra that plays for charity, Wairua Sinfonietta will be donating proceeds from its upcoming concert 'Aroha' to Te Rangimarie Charitable Trust, a trust set up by lawyers and the Criminal Bar Association to fund Michelle Kidd QSM, a social worker to ‘the poor, addicted and downtrodden’, so she can continue her vital work after her role was disestablished in a business plan.

Award-winning violinist, Marko Pop Ristov and violist Alex MacDonald, both section principals of Wairua Sinfonietta, will feature as soloists in Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante in E-flat Major.

The poignant Remember Parihaka by NZ composer Anthony Ritchie recounts 'one of the most shocking incidents in our country's history', while the Mozartean Schubert's Symphony No. 5 concludes the evening's offerings.
