Tom Higham, Professor of Professor of Archaeological Science at the University of Oxford, will be touring New Zealand during September 2015 as the last guest in the Allan Wilson International Speaker Series. The title of Tom’s talk is “When Neanderthals and Modern Humans Met”. Tom is a Fellow of Keble College and Deputy Director of the Oxford Radiocarbon Accelerator Unit, one of the first facilities in the world to use accelerator mass spectrometry for radiocarbon dating.

As you may be aware, the Wilson Centre will conclude its work at the end of this year. Tom is the last speaker that we will host on a national tour. It is fitting, therefore, that Tom is, like Allan Wilson was, an ex-pat kiwi, with a degree from the University of Otago, working on human evolution.
Please book via the Allan Wilson Centre website.
