A family-friendly, outdoor Sunday market featuring specialty produce, plants & flowers and handmade items with entertainment, artisan food stalls and a pop-up tearoom on the verandah!
Alberton is a beautiful 1863 timber mansion with Indian influenced turrets in Mt Albert, run by Heritage New Zealand. It has tranquil grounds recalling the setting of a quaint country farm with flowerbeds, a vegetable patch, chicken coop and lots of sunny grassy areas.
We are delighted to announce Alberton's Market Days which will run on every 2nd Sunday of the month (except in January):
- 13 November 2016
- 11 December 2016
- 12 February 2017
- 12 March 2017
- 9 April 2017
Our next market will take place on Sunday 9 April!
As well as seasonal fruit & veg there will be homemade preserves, pickles and jams, fresh cut flowers, honey, locally sourced meats and sausages, smoked fish, nut butters, tea, deli products, Mexican sauces, boutique olive oil, homemade kombucha, delicious artisan breads and sweet treats from Mt Albert's My Little Bakery. Coffee is care of Sam from Recovery Vehicle.
Local makers will be selling beautiful handmade items such as cards, prints, jewellery, candles, homewares, kids clothes, soap, beauty products and other unique trinkets.
Street food stalls include Langos Hungarian fried bread puffs, Ginza Takoyaki Japanese dumplings, Sabores Argentinian, Delboys hot-dogs and authentic Ethiopian and Sudanese specialties from the WISE Collective (an initiative enabled by Auckland Regional Migrant services empowering migrant and refugee women).
Mister Gelato is coming along with his old-fashioned ice-cream cart and Living Juice will be there creating all kinds of fresh fruit and veg juices and smoothies! Alberton's volunteers will be serving tea and light English scones with cream and jam on the verahadah. From the vintage china of course!
There will be giveaways and competitions (a huge hamper of goodies donated to by the stallholders), music and a fairy face-painting for the children as well as Easter egg decorating for a gold coin and an Easter egg hunt at 11am thanks to Bayleys Mt Albert!
Alberton's first batch of honey is being launched. Come along for a free talk all about bees from our beekeepers The Kumeu Beekeeping Society at 12:30.
Shop local, direct from the growers, craftspeople and small independent businesses! Don't miss the final market in the special setting of this grand historic landmark.
Rain or shine. Discounted admission to the house (adults $8, children free). Proudly supported by Bayleys Mt Albert.
