Held on the roof of the iconic Auckland Art Gallery across four Sundays throughout summer, Anno Domini will feature a line up of international DJs and producers alongside the best in Auckland’s eating with hand designed menus from Auckland’s top eateries Coco’s Cantina and the Bearded Clam and top quality cocktails from award winning bar Mea Culpa.

Dām Funk will be headlining January 24th.

Anno Domini is proudly supported by Kronenbourg 1664, Angostura Rum, Broken Shed Vodka, Hendrick's Gin, Vintners, Red Bull, One Pure NZ and All Good Organics.

Damon “Dām-FunK” Riddick is the epitome of funk. Ever since debuting with Stones Throw in 2008, Dām-FunK has become one of the genres most passionate proselytizers, out to save it from devilish depictions of cartoonish caricature. To Dam, funk is a way of living, “a feeling of struggle and staying cool through it all.”

Dām-FunK grew up in the Los Angeles city/suburb of Pasadena. A ‘ 70s baby, he came of age in the era of the Uncle Jamm’s Army parties, of electro-pharaoh Egyptian Lover, of Prince’ s purple reign. His parents nurtured his musical talents as a child and by his teens, he mastered the drums, then the drum machine.

After spending the 90’s lending his musical skills to rappers such as Mack 10 and MC Eiht. Dām-FunK and a few friends launched the popular Funkmosphere party in L.A. in the mid 2000s. It’s around then that Dam drew the attention of Stones Throw. Dam’ s partnership with Stones Throw has seen the release of his debut Toeachizown (2009) and Invite the Light (2015), as well as an anthology of early productions, Adolescent Funk(2010), to Higher(2013) with Steve Arrington and7 Days of Funk (2013) with Snoop Dogg.
