Where: Palmerston North City i-SITE Visitor Centre , The Square, Palmerston North

Restrictions: All Ages

The walk starts at Black Bridge car park and heads up the Back Track a distance of around 6kms. The Back Track is old road built in the form of a "S" with a lookout and memorial seat halfway. This is an easy walk with a steady gradient.

To complete the loop the group will return to the carpark through Arapuke Park. At about the halfway mark the group will stop for drinks and lunch at Buttlers Bridge for lunch (byo – no included in the price). Descending down past a large area of mountain bike trails, the trail zigzags down back to the Black Bridge and carpark. Along the way Ian Argyle, a former resident and local historian will enlighten the group with a few historical stories.

Please ensure that you wear appropriate walking footwear, bring warm clothing, and pack plenty of adequate drink and food.
